Bible in 90 Days update

So, I am posting a quick update on my progress of reading the Bible in 90 Days. I am joining with a group of over 100 other moms/bloggers at Mom's Toolbox to support each other in reading the entire Bible in 90 days. It has been a neat experience to know that we are all trying to read and understand the scriptures better. These are all busy women (and some men), but they have made it a priority to read and finish the Bible in 3 months. It's been fun to share and feel support from people I haven't even met before. I felt it was a good opportunity to be able to share my testimony and my beliefs with others as well.

I am currently on day 69 and I just finished the Old Testament yesterday! WAHOO! :) I appreciated the experience, but had kind of forgotten how repetitious the Old Testament is. It feels like you read the same thing over again 3 - 4 times! In all seriousness though, I really have felt my testimony grow and my love for the scriptures grow. I mentioned this before, that I feel that my testimony of the Book of Mormon has increased through reading the Bible. It has helped me understand the background, time period and customs of Lehi and his family. I had the experience of living in Jerusalem/Middle East for 6 months on a Study Abroad, so that helped a lot too, but just a reminder that it's "real". I know that BOTH the Bible and the Book of Mormon testify of God and our Savior Jesus Christ. I know that God loves ALL his children and wants them to know of his plan and love for them.

I am really excited about reading the New Testament in the remaining 3 weeks. I love the New Testament and to read the Savior's words directly. Also, to learn from the testimonies and valiant faith of the apostles and missionaries will be strengthening. I am excited that I will have it all read before General Conference and Easter.
