10th Grade

If I ever had a "rebellious" year in my life, this would probably be the one.

This was my second year at Colonial Juarez Stake Academy (JSA).  I started feeling more comfortable living in Mexico, the group of friends I had and with school.  A new girl, "Bonus" moved to town from Utah.  I was one of the "first" out-of-towners to move in and Bonus was the second.  Bonus, myself and two other girls soon formed our own little "club" called BCPL.  Which was all of our "nicknames" combined.  Bonus, Conno (me), Paco, Lotus.  We created our own written code, so we could send each other notes and no-one could read them.  We often parked Annie's car at the top of the "hill" to try and get radio reception from the one English radio station with "modern" music.  We also participated in random mischief and had fun.

This year I tried out and made it onto the JV Cheerleading. squad.  My dad was a big basketball fanatic (He was the "horse" champion in Mexico).  He would always give me pointers and general advice every game.  I didn't like the pressure, so I chose something he absolutely had no idea about - Cheerleading!  (Also, in Mexico, those were the only two choices for girls!)

"Full Extension".  I'm the "base" person middle left.
I was in the play "Seven Brides for Seven Brothers" (or Fourteen Brides for Seven Brothers - because there were so many girls, they had two casts of "brides" and two "Millies").

I'm in the front row - yellow dress.  (I scanned this 3 times - not sure why it's cut off!)
This year my schedule included Computers, Math, seminary, English, Sociales (Mexican Social Studies - my book was ALL in Spanish and my teacher ONLY spoke Spanish - that was a challenge!), Spanish, Music Appreciation, Physics and Chemistry.
